Sefira
Question
Can I wear new clothes during sefira if it was stepped on or tried on in store
Answer
Shalom!
Thank you for your question.
It is permitted to buy new clothes during the Omer period and to wear them. Some are strict, however, and do not buy clothes that require the “Shehecheyanu” blessing (even according to this opinion, one may buy it in order to wear it after the sefirah), but all other clothes are permitted to buy without question.
It appears that you have confused the “Omer” period with the “Nine Days” in which indeed, new clothing can’t be worn and even freshly laundered clothing must first be worn by someone else or put on the floor before one can wear them (depending on the type of clothing).
