Morning Washing from a Vessel

Question

Hello Rabbi, Regarding washing hands in the morning to remove the impurities that is caused from sleep, can I just wash them as usual, or does it have to be specifically done with a washing cup/vessel?(This question is not related to the washing that one needs to do with a cup/vessel before prayer)

Answer

Thank you for your question.

The evil spirit (impurities) is only removed from the hands only through washing with a vessel, not through regular washing or similar methods. Therefore, it must be done with a vessel.

However, there is no need for a complete vessel and other details that are needed when one washes for bread, the main thing is that it should be a form of 'pouring onto the hands'.

Wishing you well.

If he immerses his hands in a vessel of water, it counts as washing for Shema and prayer, but not for the evil spirit on them.
