Practical Guidelines For an Antisemitic Environment
Question
Hello, I live in a rather antisemitic country, with generalised antisemitism specially within the youth. I'm still just a highschool student and I have a male friend who told me he's worried about wearing the kippah and the tzitzit when he goes to class in order to avoid issues. He's specially worried because of the changing rooms before and after PE classes, where he's unable to hide them, and consequently he isn't wearing either of them at class. He told me he feels bad and like he's not doing enough from his part. What can I tell him to make him feel better?
Thank you!
Thank you!
Answer
Thank you for your question.
With regard to the kippah, he could wear a cap or something similar so that he wouldn’t stand out. With regard to the tzitzit, he should not wear them during these times.
Wising you all the best.
