how old do you have to be to start practicing putiong on tiffilion what month am i allowed to start practicing even if my bar mitvah is in apriel

Thank you for your question.

There are various customs as to when a boy should begin wearing tefillin.

The Minhag is to start 1 month before Bar Mitzva, however one may start putting on Tefillin from 3 months before Bar Mitzva.
