Exemption from Zimun at a Meal
Question
Shalom HaRav,If someone began a meal together with others but wants to bentch without a zimun because he is in a hurry to leave, what should he do?And does it help if, at the start of the meal, he had in mind not to join the zimun? Thank you very much.
Answer
Shalom uVracha,
If he began with the intention of joining, he must do zimun with three.
If he began with the intention not joining, then he may bentch without a zimun.
