Is Puffed Wheat Still Considered One of the Shivat HaMinim?

Question

If I am reciting borei pri ha'adama on puffed wheat, does it have the status of the shiv'at haminim regarding precedence over other vegetables, or even over fruits?

Answer

Thank you for your question.

Since it is still considered dagan (grain), it retains its status as one of the Shivat HaMinim, as we see in Sha’ar HaTziyun, Siman 208, se’if katan 26, This is a quote:

See the Magen Avraham, who writes that even whole barley kernels (gantze gerstin), whose blessing is Borei Pri Ha’adamah according to the view of the students of Rabbeinu Yonah, are not considered nullified, since they are, in any case, a type of grain.

Wishing you well.
