Shehecheyanu on Money
Question
Should one recite the blessing 'Ha-Tov Ve-Ha-Metiv' or 'Shehecheyanu' on a significant amount of money received as a gift?
Answer
Shalom Rav,
Yes. On a significant amount that brings joy to a person, one should recite a blessing.
If it is given to one person alone, he should recite 'Shehecheyanu'.
If however, it is given to him and also to his family or others, then he should recite 'Ha-Tov Ve-Ha-Metiv'.
