Heating in a Non-Kosher Microwave

Question

I work in a secular company. Is it permitted to heat food in a microwave? Thank you very much.

Answer

Dear …!
It is permissible to heat in a vessel that is closed with two covers, such as a closed utensil with a bag over it, or two well-tied bags.
It is not advisable to use this solution regularly, as it is very common for the bag not to be sealed well enough, or for the vessel to be opened by the pressure of the steam. But when there is no other option, it is permitted.
