Countertop that has not been used for hot items

Question

Greetings! I installed a new marble countertop in the kitchen that has not been used for hot leaven (however it was used for regular leaven). How should the countertop be koshered for Passover?

Answer

Hello and blessing,
If it is clear to you that it has not been used with hot leaven, it is sufficient to wash it thoroughly from all leaven crumbs. It is advisable to use a cleaning material to render small crumbs that may remain in the grooves inedible.
