Visiting a grave on a fast day

Question

Is it permissible to ascend to a cemetery on the 10th of Tevet?

Answer

The days on which we do not visit graves are those days on which we do not recite the supplication prayers. A fast day is an appropriate time to ascend to the grave, and on the contrary, during a fast, we should awaken to the fact that we are not here forever. And if G-d forbid, if we do not merit to repent, may the prophecy of 'and death shall be swallowed up forever' will be fulfilled for us.
