Proposing a match

Question

I proposed an idea to a matchmaker about a certain match and the matchmaker suggested it to the parities concerned, and the match was successfully concluded. Should I get a part of the fee?

Answer

Dear …!
If you suggest a match to one of the parties, you generally get paid. However, if you suggest an idea to the matchmaker, you usually do not get paid.
If you explicitly stipulated with the matchmaker that she pay you for the suggestion, then she has to pay you.
