Untrustworthy person

Question

I reserved a rental car at CityCar, which is a company that rents out cars. Now I want to cancel my reservation. According to the company contract, I am able to cancel two hours or more before the reserved time begins. My question is, will I be considered an untrustworthy person (as defined by the Jewish law) if I cancel my reservation?

Answer

Dear …!

If the company itself gives you an option to reconsider and cancel your reservation, that means, that your agreement with the company includes this provision; the company has no claim or argument against you if you back out of your reservation. Therefore, there is no problem of being untrustworthy.
