Participation in a coed event

Question

My wife just finished a certain professional course of study, which was taught by a non-religious lady. This lady heads an institution for teaching this particular profession. Now she is organizing a graduation event with a lecture (she is the one lecturing). Naturally, the sitting is going to be mixed. Is my wife allowed to participate? I have to emphasize that it’s very important for my wife to take part in this. Thank you very much

Answer

Of course, it’s not proper for her to participate in such an event. However, if she has no choice, and has to take part in this, she should sit as far as possible to the side, and not mix with all the participants.
