Murder in the Torah

Question

I don't understand. God says in the 10 commandments do not kill. But then God contradicts himself saying kill jews that sin in certain cases and kill gentiles in certain cases and kill animals as sacrifices...

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your question.

One of the Ten Commandments is “Do not Murder.” It is murder that is forbidden but killing is often permitted and justified under the right circumstances.

Hope that explains it!
