Talking About Israel at the Holiday Table

Question

I want to read something at the Rosh Hashanah table about Israel and hope and prayer for Israel. Is there a good blessing or piece of writing that would be appropriate?

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your question.

If you would like to discuss the Land of Israel and the current difficult situation along with the offering of some prayers, allow me to suggest:

Looking and discussing Devarim Chapter 20 from the Torah

Reciting Psalms (Tehillim), especially Psalm 121

Sing songs related to the Land of Israel

Talk about how the Land of Israel belongs only to the Jews as G-d promises in the Torah countless times.

Pray to G-d in your own words that He bless the Land of Israel, those who live there, and those who defend it.
