Cleaning During the Nine Days

Paint spilled in the hallway of my building and stained many areas of the floor and railing. Is it permissable to clean it off during the 9 days?

It is permissible to clean off the paint during the Nine Days. Indeed, almost everything is permitted during the Nine Days if needed to prevent loss or damage (i.e. staining).
