Conversion / Customs

Question

Can a convert, married to an Ashkenazi man, eat kitniot on Pesach?

Answer

Shalom!

As a general rule, a woman is to adopt her husband's customs upon marriage. This is true whether the husband's customs are more "strict" or more "lenient" than her prior customs.

As such, you should not eat kitniot on Pesach if you are married to an Ashkenazi man.

Sources that a woman is to follow her husband's customs: Tashbetz 3:179; Igrot Moshe, OC 1:158.
