Were to to fix the Mezuzah

Hi Rabbi, good afternoon! We just moved into a new home BH and we aren’t sure where to hang up our front door mezuzah. I am including two photos to show the two possible areas where the mezuzah can be placed. I would sincerely appreciate your expert opinion. Additionally there is also space in the door post for a mezuzah inside the home but I know our preference is to hang the mezuzah outside as we’ve done in every home. Much appreciation for your help.

I only received one picture (which I attached) and that is the perfect place to put the Mezuzah.
