Prostate surgery ‌ ‌

Question

Is it ok to have an operation to deal with an enlarged prostate where afterwards one won’t be able to have children afterwards? (The sperm doesn’t come out).

Answer

It is prohibited to sterilise a human or an animal. Therefore, undergoing a surgery that results in sterility is not permissible.

However, there are methods to perform surgeries that do not lead to sterility. It is incumbent upon individuals to seek guidance from medical experts to explore options that avoid causing sterility.
