Putting tefillin in your luggage

Is it prohibited to put tefilin in your luggage underneath the airplane. ?

There is no prohibition to put your tefillin in your luggage.
Many people avoid doing so out of respect for this holy object or out of concern that their suitcase may get lost or delayed, and they will be unable to don tefillin.
