Mourning with a Parent - After the Holiday
Question
If one's grandfather passed away on the sixth day of Sukkot, the eve of Shemini Atzeret, does he need to observe the laws of mourning, as 'all who mourn for him, mourn with him' (that is, joining one’s parent in his mourning) during the seven days?
Answer
Shalom and good tidings!
One should observe mourning with the parent, as in other cases of mourning.
