Cutting a Bothersome Nail During a Festival

Question

My wife did not cut her nails before the holiday, and she has one nail that is very large and really bothers her. It also irritates the baby when she takes care of him. Is she allowed to cut it?

Answer

Shalom and joyous holidays to you!
If there is a need for the baby, she is allowed to cut it in the usual way, since when there is a real need, we rely on the Shulchan Aruch that permits nail cutting ab initio.
