A Beautiful Etrog Far Away or a Less Beautiful One Nearby

Question

If I have a less beautiful etrog close by and a beautiful etrog far away, which one is preferable to take?

Answer

Shalom and joyous holidays!
One should make an effort to bring the beautiful one.
The principle of 'we do not pass over mitzvot' does not apply when a person is about to fulfill the same mitzvah, with one of the objects he needs for the performance of that mitzva before him. Rather, this principle applies only when he has two different mitzvot to fulfill, and then he should prefer the one that is closer to him.
