A Knife Used to Cut Meat with Onion

Question

A sharp knife that was intended for parve (neutral) use, was used to cut cold beef, and then, while still having meat residues on it, was used to cut an onion. Is it possible to kasher it and return it to parve use?

Answer

Shalom!
The pressure of the knife, combined with the spicy-sharp taste of the onion, cause the knife to absorb the taste of meat.
It is possible to kasher the knife with boiling water and return it to parve use.
Wait for 24 hours after the knife absorbed the taste of meat, heat water in a pot until boiling, then place the knife in it, remove and rinse with cold water.
