Vitamins of dubitable kashruth

Question

Greetings and blessings! What is the opinion of Rabbi Amram Fried regarding vitamins that contain gelatin (without kosher certification, and possibly from pig skin)? This differs from medicine where we are dealing with a sick person; here we are dealing with a healthy one. Thank you very much.

Answer

Shalom and joyous holidays!
If the medicine has no taste, it is permitted to take it.
Since this is not consumed in a way one normally eats and is intended for medicine.
