Yom Kippur Fast - Medication After an Accident

Question

My son has had an accident, and he is supposed to undergo surgery after Yom Kippur. He has a fracture in the humerus and at the root of the palm. He as a prescription (attached) for pain relievers. In what way can he take the pills?

Answer

Shalom and complete healing!
If possible, he should swallow the pills without water.
If water is needed — it is preferable to make the water bitter with lemon juice or tea extract.
