Yom Kippur Fast - Taking Medicine

Question

Is it permissible to take Acamol (Israeli version of Tylenol) on Yom Kippur?

Answer

Shalom!
In the same way that it is permitted to take medicine on Shabbat, it is also permitted on Yom Kippur. The rule in this matter is that anyone whose whole body feels ill and who needs to lie down, is allowed to take medicine.
If case taking medicine is permitted, one should swallow it without water. If that’s impossible, one should take it with a little water. One should first make the water bitter with something bitter, so as not to enjoy drinking it.
