Removing a Plate from Two Plates

Question

Is it permissible to take one book or plate from two books or plates stacked one on top of the other, not for its own use or place, for example, to throw one of the plates?

Answer

Peace be upon you,
I assume the question is regarding the principle of Borer (selection, [which is one of the labors prohibited on Shabbos]).
There is no prohibition of Borer in taking one plate or one book from a group of two, as this is not considered a mixture.
