Tearing off the remnants of pages — Genizah

Question

The Talmud volume which I use for learning deteriorates quickly, so that on each page, the edges of the page curl upwards, appear frayed, and tear. I asked whether it is permissible to tear off the edges when they appear this way, and to put them in the Talmud volume, which in a certain sense will give the Talmud a better appearance, and will look less awful, from my point of view, and if so, whether I need to put the pieces in a Genizah. I look forward to your response.

Answer

Dear …!
It is permitted to tear off the remnants to beautify the Talmud, and the remnants should be placed in a Genizah.
