Blowing the Shofar on the Eve of Rosh Hashanah for Practice

Question

This year, when Rosh Hashanah falls on Shabbat (and also in a year when it falls on Monday), I am worried that it will be difficult for me to blow the shofar on Rosh Hashanah because there is a break of two days without practice. I wanted to ask whether it is possible to be lenient and to allow me to practice blowing on the eve of Rosh Hashanah or on Rosh Hashanah itself and if so, which of them is preferable?

Answer

Shalom!
Blow the shofar on the eve of Rosh Hashanah. There are authorities who permit this for the sake of practice, especially in a closed room.
