A Son Who is Secular in the Context of Eruv
Question
Concerning the laws of Eruv of courtyards: This week, my neighbor, the homeowner, traveled, and his son remained at home. To our regret, this individual does not observe the Torah and commandments at all. Do I need to rent a part of the house from him, or since it is not his house, is it sufficient that I make an Eruv with its religious owner?
Answer
Shalom!
Since the father has the right to use the apartment and his possessions are in it, the son does not invalidate the Eruv.
