If a mourner leads the prayer on Tisha B'Av

Question

Should a mourner lead the prayer on Tisha B'Av?

Answer

A mourner should lead the prayer on Tisha B'Av.
[Although the general rule is that on a day when Tachanun is not said, the mourner does not lead the prayer, usually this indicates that it is a day of joy. However, on Tisha B'Av, this is due to it being called a 'festival' and not because of joy].
