Fasting after a virus with fever

Question

I am recovering from a severe virus that caused diarrhea and vomiting, accompanied by fever. Only today have I returned to myself. It is extremely hot outside and I am afraid of dehydration. What can be done during a fast?

Answer

Shalom!
If currently there is no fever or diarrhea, you should begin the fast. If during the fast you feel extraordinary weakness, or fear of dehydration [dizziness, seeing black], you should eat and drink immediately.
