Immersion that Falls on the Evening After Tisha B'Av

Question

How does one prepare for the mitzvah of immersion on the evening after Tisha B'Av? Is one permitted to shave, cut nails, wash one’s hair in hot water, on the eve of Tisha B'Av? Or is it better to do everything on the evening after Tisha B'Av, and if it is not possible to shave on the evening after Tisha B'Av, due to concerns of modesty, can one forego this, if one is normally careful to do this? I would appreciate your response. With blessing.

Answer

Shalom!
All preparations should be done on the eve of Tisha B'Av, including everything that she is accustomed to doing regularly. On the evening after Tisha B'Av, she should only take a shower, brush her hair lightly and examine her body.
