Singing in Honor of a Rabbi during the Three Weeks

Question

Is it permissible to sing to a Rabbi when he enters with dances etc. during the Three Weeks and the Nine Days?

Answer

Shalom!
Singing in honor of the Rabbi is considered like any singing for the sake of a mitzvah.
Vocal singing is permissible until Rosh Chodesh Av, and starting from Rosh Chodesh it is forbidden.
