Tefilas HaDerech between Modiin Illit and Achisamach
Question
Someone traveling from Modiin Illit to Lod (Achisamach) — does he recite Tefilas HaDerech with Shem U’Malchus (Hashems Name and kingship)? And if he does, at what point on the road is it considered a proper distance to say Tefilas HaDerech?
Answer
Shalom uVracha,
Tefilas HaDerech should be recited with a bracha,
since there is a stretch of four parsah (about 4 km) without houses (on Route 443, near the Ben Shemen Forest).
When there is such a stretch of four parsah, one should recite Tefilas HaDerech immediately upon leaving the last houses on the edge of town.
